Thank You!
As many of you saw on November 4th (election day), I withdrew my name from consideration in order to pursue graduate school. It was a difficult decision, particularly given the amazing experience I had campaigning and meeting you, my neighbors. I was honored to be nominated by you to appear on the ballot and it was a thrill to see my name there, and I want to thank the people who gave me their vote despite my withdrawal. Most importantly, I want to congratulate Ellen Nedrow Sullivan and wish her the best of luck in her new position. She will be a fantastic commissioner and I’m very excited to work with her and with the ANC this year.
Jennie has lived in ANC1B02 since 2011. She has served as the chair of the ANC Grants Committee for two years and has helped deliver funding to non-profits in the ANC1B area that serve children, adults and families in the community. An active volunteer with homeless children at DC’s largest shelter, Jennie is an avid advocate for the preservation of affordable housing, particularly in the U Street corridor. Her vision for the neighborhood is of a mixed income, mixed use, vibrant U Street that remains faithful to its past.
